The Independent Adoption Center is a nationwide nonprofit organization providing open adoption services to pregnant women considering adoption and families who want to adopt a baby. IAC is the national leader in open adoption and is known for political and technological innovation in the field of adoption. As one of the driving forces for pioneering open adoption back in the 1980s, the IAC continues to serve its mantra for reform today by advocating further openness and more extensive options for birth and adoptive families across the country, particularly for LGBT families. IAC is one of the only open adoption agencies that has never had exclusive policies for its clients believing that all qualified stable and loving homes are productive environments for raising a child. IAC is a counseling-based, licensed adoption agency. Staffed mainly by caring and supportive social workers and run by experienced business professionals, IAC provides clients with all the resources they need to complete a physically and emotionally successful adoption experience.
